Requesting a company laptop (new joiners and replacements)

Hardware & Devices · 2 views

NEW JOINERS
1. Your manager or HR raises a "New Laptop" request from the Service Catalog while your onboarding case is in progress — ideally a week before your joining date.
2. The request should mention: your name, joining date, role, work location (office/WFH city), and required specs. Standard issue is an i5 with 16GB RAM; design/engineering roles can request i7/32GB with justification.
3. IT reserves a device from stock (or orders from our lease vendor), images it with the standard software set, and hands it over on (or couriers it before) day one. You will sign an asset acknowledgement — keep the asset tag noted.

REPLACEMENTS
1. Raise "Replacement Laptop" from the Service Catalog with your current asset tag and the reason (slow/damaged/3+ years old).
2. Devices older than 3 years qualify for refresh under our lease policy — we verify the age from the asset register.
3. When the replacement arrives, your data is migrated, and the old device MUST be returned (charger and bag included) — the lease vendor bills us for unreturned units, and pending returns block your clearances later.

Couriered devices: confirm delivery on the ticket, and keep the box for future return pickup.

Still stuck? Email [email protected] or raise a ticket from the Help Center — include your asset tag (sticker on the laptop) and a screenshot if possible.
