FAQ: There is a deduction on my payslip I don't understand
HR Guides · 0 views
Small or unexpected deductions on your payslip are usually one of these standard items — check the 'Deductions' tab of your payslip in HRMantra:
• Mediclaim / medical insurance premium — your share of the group health cover (applies for any month you were active, even part of it).
• MLWF — Maharashtra Labour Welfare Fund, a small statutory contribution.
• PF / VPF — Provident Fund (12% of Basic+DA); VPF is any voluntary top-up you opted for.
• TDS — income tax deducted at source based on your projected annual tax.
• LWP / Loss of Pay — for leave taken without approval, or late-coming (see the Leave & Attendance policy).
IF IT STILL LOOKS WRONG
• Raise an HR request with the exact month and amount. HR will check the breakup with Finance and either explain it or correct/reverse it. Don't wait — salary queries are easiest to fix in the same or next cycle. See 'Your salary, payslip & CTC explained'.
