Turn on 2-Step Verification (2FA) for your Iksula Google account
Accounts & Email · 12 views · 🧭 Guided walkthrough
Turning on 2-Step Verification (2FA) adds a second check when you sign in, so even if someone gets your password they still can’t get into your Iksula Google account. It takes about 5 minutes and you’ll need your phone. Do it now while you have full access — it’s far easier to set up before a lockout than after one.

**What this is:** A quick guide to turn on **2-Step Verification (2FA)** for your Iksula Google account — *before* you ever get locked out. Use the step-by-step walkthrough above for a guided version.
**Why do it now:** 2FA adds a second check at sign-in, so a stolen or guessed password isn’t enough to get into your account. Setting it up while you still have full access is quick and painless; doing it after a lockout is not. It also means you’ll have **backup codes** saved for the day your phone is lost or replaced.
### What you’ll need
Your Iksula login, your phone, and ~5 minutes. Easiest on a computer with your phone handy.
### 1. Open your 2-Step settings
Go to **myaccount.google.com/signinoptions/two-step-verification** and sign in with your @iksula.com email.
### 2. Start setup
Click **Get started** (re-enter your password if asked).
### 3. Add your phone
Enter your mobile number → choose **Text message** or **Call** → type the 6-digit code Google sends → **Next**. *(An authenticator app or Android “Google prompt” works too.)*
### 4. Turn it on
Click **Turn on** — 2-Step Verification is now active.
### 5. Save your backup codes (important)
On the same page → **Backup codes** → **Get codes**. Save the 10 one-time codes somewhere safe (password manager or printed) — **not** with your password. These prevent a future lockout.
### 6. Verify
The page should read **“2-Step Verification is ON”** with your phone listed.
From now on you’ll add a second step when signing in on a new device. If you’re ever without your phone, use a backup code — or ask the IT chatbot / raise a ticket and IT will verify you and help.
