Your salary, payslip & CTC explained

HR Guides · 7 views

PAYDAY
• Salary is paid on the 7th of each month by bank transfer (NEFT). If the 7th is a weekend/holiday, you're paid on the prior working day.
• Your salary account must NOT be a joint account. Submit your bank details to Accounts within 7 days of joining. If your account isn't active at the first payout, the amount is held and paid with the next salary once active.

YOUR CTC COMPONENTS
• Basic Salary — usually 30%–95% of monthly CTC (fully taxable).
• House Rent Allowance (HRA) — up to 50% of Basic (tax exemption on producing rent receipts in your name).
• Leave Travel Allowance (LTA) — up to 1 month's Basic per year (tax-exempt twice in a block of 4 years, per actual travel fare).
• Conveyance Allowance — up to ₹1,600/month (₹19,200/year).
• Medical Allowance — up to ₹1,250/month (₹15,000/year), reimbursed against bills (fully taxable if no bills).
• Telephone Allowance — actual expenses on one mobile + one landline in your name.
• Children Education Allowance — ₹100/month per child, up to 2 children.

PAYSLIP & FORM 16
• Download your payslip and Form 16 from HRMantra. If you can't, raise an HR request.

SALARY LOOKS WRONG?
• Notify HR immediately — errors are checked and corrected. Note: unapproved leave (LWP) and late-coming deductions reduce pay (see the Leave & Attendance policy).
