ELIGIBILITY
All confirmed female employees not covered under the ESI Act, 1948, who have completed at least 12 months and worked 80+ days in the last 12 months.
DURATION
• Up to 26 weeks, of which not more than 8 weeks may be taken before the expected delivery date. This applies up to 2 surviving children.
• For a woman with 2 or more surviving children: up to 12 weeks (max 6 before delivery).
• Legal adoption of a child under 3 months, or a commissioning mother: 12 weeks from the date the child is handed over.
NURSING BREAKS & CRÈCHE
• A crèche is provided near the office. A nursing mother is allowed up to 4 visits a day (up to 30 minutes each, including rest breaks) until the child is 15 months old. Ask HR for crèche details.
ILLNESS & MISCARRIAGE
• Illness arising from pregnancy/delivery/premature birth: an additional 4 weeks of paid leave (with medical documents and the attending doctor's note).
• Miscarriage: 6 weeks of leave with wages (at maternity-benefit rate) from the day of miscarriage, on producing proof.
HOW TO APPLY
• Submit the Maternity Leave Application Form with a valid medical certificate from a registered practitioner to HR, through HRMantra. Timely submission of the approved form is the employee's responsibility.
• You should resume duties after the maternity period; failing that, the period is treated as unauthorised leave.
